Traffic is being diverted from Checkendon on to single track roads that are incapable of taking the volume of traffic. Please stop this dangerous diversion

  • I have to agree that this is a very dangerous diversion, especially if it is going to last for up to 10 weeks! It takes you on single track roads, but does not tell you that it is unsuitable for larger vehicles. It will endanger the residents that live along the lanes - as I travelled it on Monday 25th I encountered a family with a 3/4 year old walking their dog in the middle of the road - there is nowhere else for them to walk as there aren't any footpaths. Apparently residents have been told that the road will not actually be fully closed - only one side - and they can travel along it? Please find a different route ASAP
