Random parking sign in public land

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signs category by Tony Brett at 18:13, Wednesday 20 August 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This sign has appeared in the last few weeks. It is in public authority land. I think it probably refers to the parking outside flats 60-96 Saunders Road but it is not in that land (that's to the right of the black tarmac path in the picture) and is misleading as it's right behind the Reliance Way Road name sign. Reliance Way is adopted public highway. The sign has no contact details on it and is frankly pretty confusing and ugly. Can it be removed please as there no clear indication as to on what authority it was installed in the first place.

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 18:13, Wednesday 20 August 2025

  • Thank you for your report. I have checked our highway boundary maps, and this area of verge is not part of the public highway. Saunders road leading up to the flats is public highway, as is the link to reliance way (you are correct). This sign appears to refer to the land by the flats, and the sign itself is not on public highway.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
