A3400 heading north road in very poor condition

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

After the Chipping Norton Roundabout, heading north toward Rollrights, there is a large area (mainly northbound but also affects southbound traffic) of 75-100 metres where the road is in such poor condition this could be hazardous to cyclists and motorcyclists as well as car & lorries.

There are small potholes and damage in grooves which not only affects vehicles but could easily bring a vehicle on two wheels to become unstable and fall.

As the summer comes to an end, this issue will be compounded when the road surface is wet.

This situation has been present for a number of months.

  • After reading a number of reports of this road, I believe this is sufficient evidence that something needs to be done soon to avoid a serious accident which will pose a risk of serious injury or even death. The single carriage highway is too dangerous to stop and take photos, you need to send someone out to investigate urgently.

    Please do not send a generic reply as it’s disingenuous and not helpful to myself posting this alert to you.
