The grass verge on the corner of Manor Farm Close & West Street which is frequently used as a parking space is in a poor state

Reported via desktop in the Grass category anonymously at 14:59, Sat 9 August 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

It is difficult to maintain the grass verge if parking is allowed. It's not clear who is responsible for maintenance of the grass verge. Stone boulders have been place in other locations to preserve grass verges. Is this an option in this location?

  • There has been no update on this matter since the original post back in August. It was hoped that a decision would be made before winter set in, and the grass verge reduced to a muddy mess. Please can you attend to this issue promptly. In any case cars parked in this location cause an obstruction.

  • Thank you for your report. Unfortunately, OCC do not have the funding to install new protection bollards at this time. This is unfortunately a common issue in towns and urban areas throughout Oxfordshire.
As a council we cannot stop or prosecute MOP's who park on verges due to limited enforcement powers.
Another option is for you to contact your local Town or Parish Council to see if they will be willing to fund new bollard installation in this area. All information for protection of verges in Oxfordshire can be located using the below link.
