Watlington

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 23:04, Wed 6 August 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Long-term gas? Works throughout Watlington have been ongoing for several weeks with diversions throughout the village....but 2 weeks ago another 'rd closed' sign appeared meaning the only diversion is through pyrton lane which is not a sufficient route especially for 2 way traffic....as with 3 blind corners & numerous pot holes it is dangerous and ruining cars. I've ruined a wheel on a brand new car due to bad rd awareness of others plus delivery vans disregard for vehicles in general. There has been no attempt to place lights or restrictions to manage the flow at least at the end where the bends are. There has not once been any indication of dates of works either signage or local leafleting plus no sight of much work actually going on before 10am or after 3pm? The potholes everywhere and path edges become worse each week, you would think it a good thing to fix these along the way as each section finished...but no it doesn't look like this is planned, its not happening. Drivers who have no choice are adding hours on to each day (aswell as miles), cars are ruined and no indication of an end in sight.
