Ash Dieback
Reported via desktop in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 10:43, Fri 1 August 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I have had a Tree Surgeon inspect the tree who has confirmed that the tree has Chalara and needs to be felled before it falls. I am very concerned as the tree sits opposite the school and also at the entrance to the Doctors Surgery aswell as at the edge of my property which would cause substantial damage should it fall. Please can you look into as a matter of urgency. Many Thanks

Thank you for your enquiry, I have visited site and inspected the trees & vegetation as described in the enquiry. The trees & vegetation present appears to be growing beyond the area that OCC maintains and is therefore deemed to be an adjacent boundary feature. OCC, as the local highway authority, maintain the HMPE (highway maintainable at public expense) from boundary feature to boundary feature, but not the actual boundary features themselves. As such the vegetation present is maintainable by the adjacent property/landowner, and not the County Council. Adjacent landowners may maintain their trees & vegetation as they wish within the guidelines of relevant legislation. Further information on highway extents can be found at www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/highwayextentproperty
