No Safe Crossing Point for Right of Way

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 12:37, Wednesday 2 July 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A public footpath crosses the A40 at this point which is a useful and now popular route for walking to the Farmer's Dog pub from Carterton, yet there are no crossing facilities at all (not even a gap in the barrier), or even any warning signage for drivers that we have noticed.

  • Thank you for your report.
There is a crossing point (gap in the barrier) a bit closer to the roundabout that can be used to cross. We are looking to update signage near the crossing to alert the motorist of the presence of pedestrians crossing the roads (this will be subject to funding and feasibility)

    State changed to: Investigation complete
