Misleading lane marking
Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category anonymously at 17:53, Sun 22 June 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
There are three lanes: left, straight on and right. However, once on the roundabout the straight on lane becomes a turn right lane. I have seen this lead to near accidents as the vehicles in the right lane wanting to then be in the left lane on Hennef Way start to spiral out but can end up in the path of those who know the centre lane becomes a right-turn lane and are turning right. Should the central lane on Wildmere Road not be marked as straight on/right turn and the same for the lane on the roundabout?

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. However this particular roundabout design has been implemented at this location for a reason, Ahead Arrows, In the right lane approaching a roundabout, even if you intend to turn right, this encourages drivers to follow the roundabouts natural clockwise flow and prevents potential wrong-way navigation. As a right arrow might be misinterpreted by some drivers, leading them to enter the roundabout incorrectly.
