Incorrect lane marking

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category anonymously at 17:48, Sunday 22 June 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There are two lane markings for the A44. However, if you take the left lane marked A44 and stay in that lane you end up in a lane for the A34 west only. Should the lanes not be marked: left lane - A34W; right lane - A44/A34E? There are no markings north of the roundabout to warn you that you are going to be in the wrong lane at the lights before the roundabout.

  • Thank you for bring this to our attention. The road markings are within regulations required and with the clear advance traffic sign showing the difficult routes to follow that it is thought reasonable there is sufficient length of carriageway for lane change discipline to occur. However we have taken note of your comments as they are important to us in the development of future improvements.
