Large pothole from the A420 into the slip road for the Besselsleigh road
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 19:23, Wed 18 June 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
While turning onto Besselsleigh Road from the A420 today at approximately 5:00 PM, I encountered a significant road defect—either a deep pothole or possibly a broken drain. I wasn’t able to stop and inspect it due to traffic, but there was a loud bang as my vehicle struck the hole. It took me completely by surprise, and I had no opportunity to avoid it. This happened on a clear, sunny afternoon. I dread to think what could happen on a dark winter evening with reduced visibility—this is already a challenging junction to navigate even in ideal conditions. The defect poses a clear hazard and needs urgent attention before it causes serious damage or injury.
