New road markings are wrong

Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category anonymously at 15:05, Saturday 14 June 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

New road markings now have 3 exit lanes going straight over to exit on to 2 on Hennef Way. The previous markings coming down from junction 11 consisted of 2 straight ahead and one to the right going to the retail park. This is causing confusion and at some point an accident.

  • Completely agree with the above report - markings are dangerous - have had 2 vehicles nearly drive into the side of my car because they are trying to force their way across. Needs to be 2 lanes straight on and one right as it used to be!!!

  • I have checked google maps which shows that the new markings are wrong. I have now had 2 near misses and have seen a few more. This is becoming really dangerous as cars are now speeding up into the 3rd lane to try and overtake traffic and then have to rejoin the 2 proper lanes.

  • Thank you for your report. This particular roundabout design has been implemented at this location for a reason, Ahead Arrows, In the right lane approaching a roundabout, even if you intend to turn right, this encourages drivers to follow the roundabouts natural clockwise flow and prevents potential wrong-way navigation. As a right arrow might be misinterpreted by some drivers, leading them to enter the roundabout incorrectly.
