Overgrown tree blows into and drops leaf litter onto homes nearby

Reported via desktop in the Report a tree problem category by Bradley S at 12:34, Wednesday 11 June 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A huge, overgrown tree blows its branches onto the nearby homes (11 Alesworth Grove) (12A Borrowmead road). It drops vast amounts of leaf litter all year round. We understand this is normal, especially during the autumn season, however we are certain this much is not common. This has led to increased private costs as we constantly pay to remove the leaves and twigs that accumulate and block our infiltration systems and other private home infrastructure. We understand that there is currently a strain on the Oxford Council's services so we are happy to pay a firm to trim down the ends. We would like to do this however the tree is protected. We spoke to one neighbour and they reported this same issue early last year and told us that you plan to trim down large branches late this year. We hope this occurs earlier as we are constantly paying for the damages created. We would not have moved to Northway knowing we would encounter external costs like this. This has severely impacted our standard of living here, we urge you do to something.
