Drains/Gullys blocked with leaves and debris

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Due to the overhanging trees down Stanford Drive the roads are full of leaves and debris. Surface water is pooling and causing a problem. The road requires sweeping and the gullys emptying as theyre full of leaves, silt and debris.

  • Fitzharris Residents could all certainly maybe contribute a little more to the Estate Upkeep especially at this current time of shortages of cleaning labour? it doesnt take much to give the area outside of ones house an occasional 15 minute sweep,lift some pavement weeds mow a verge,empty a drain and the like? Some do some dont. Learned dependency of today can unfortunately encourage the' not my problem'someone elses job attitude which gets us all really no where very much. 'Everyone must work and contribute & take a pride in to the upkeep of their communities appearance if they are able.' In todays world with its narrative of decline and managed decline and indifference contracting out by councils etc residents may increasingly find they need to compromise and help out if some thing is to be fixed and appearances kept up.Litter picking is a good example of this community eclan.The alternative is a descent into decay,rot and misery chaos. Its a bit like the dentist. Just sitting back doing nothing and expecting organisations to do it all is Im afraid sometimes futile

We are pleased to inform you that the Parish or Town of Abingdon Fitzharris is scheduled for gully emptying in the fourth quarter of this financial year. While severe weather may cause delays, we are committed to thoroughly cleansing all Highway Surface Water Assets in the area within this timeframe.
