Huge weed on edge of pavement

Reported via desktop anonymously at 11:29, Friday 6 June 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council 2 minutes later

This weed is rapidly turning into a shrub. It has been dealt with before but only by cutting. It keeps growing back again and needs to be sprayed with weedkiller to solve the problem properly.

Council ref: ENQ251049899

  • Weedkiller is unfortunately banned nowadays. You are however right.A weed on this scale requires thorough uprooting with a tool by hand and the crevice cleaned out.Not a difficult job when the roots are moist. I think I right in saying this particular patch of weeds is on the way down to St Helens School just beyond the roundabout? I would have thought that School would have taken more interest in such matters as its on their approach and doesnt do the area any favours. Maybe a work party can be organised? As it is it may just be left as I dont think The Council do such nitty gritty tidying up on hands and knees so much nowadays. Abingdon School however has a very clean and tidy weed free Faringdon Road now as befits a top Public School.

  • Weedkiller isn't banned. the council has decided to stop using weedkiller to save money but then just let the weeds grow like crazy. Our taxes go up and up and yet we have to live in a town that is starting to look like a third world country. total disgrace.
