Reported via mobile in the Other category anonymously at 22:01, Fri 30 May 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later
The verges at the crossroads are so overgrown it is impossible to see whether it is safe to cross over to the other side of the road until your in the middle of the road. It’s an accident waiting to happen travelling from Uffington to Watchfield & vice versa.

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
