Large Oak Tree and Other trees havent been cut and are very tall and an issue

Reported via desktop in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 10:36, Sat 10 May 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Large trees need cutting down significantly They are causing issues with branches falling into our garden and are cutting out light. They are also a hazard for the many children and parents who walk past them every day. Branches are overhanging mine and my neighbours opposite gardens. No one ever seems to cut them back when others around the school field have been done.

  • Thank you for your report. I have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The trees present are on land not deemed to be part of the highway maintainable at public expense by OCC in the County’s capacity as local highway authority. A land registry search has confirmed that the trees are on land that is maintainable by Banbury Town Council and not by the County Council. We advise to contact them directly to pursue this enquiry further. District Council contact details can be found at: https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ residents/ environment-and-planning/ countryside/ trees-and-woodland/ who-contact-about-trees
