Large pothole on lefthand land prior to JR turning on the A4. On the left side of the road.

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:50, Tuesday

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Large pothole, looks deep than 4cm on the Northern Bypass part of the A40 just before the left turning towards Marsh lane, on the way to the JR.

Car drove over this today and I had sudden warning on for the tyre in my car. Managed to pull over at side of road by Phillips Tyres entrance, pump types to 30 PSI to get me to work (the JR). Cannot recall the pot hole having paint around it.

Council ref: ENQ251045192

  • After review on the next day to work, this is an exposed manhole cover. It is just before the bridge on Elsfield way / A40 after the round about.

I had to get my tyre fixed at the local Phillips tyre garage and will contact the council top arrange compensation.
