Un-owned land impeding public path

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 12:18, Tuesday

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

When this road was built, the council neglected to take ownership of this bush/corner of land, so nobody owns it (KG has checked with the land registry). This is an unacceptable situation, land should be either owned by the residents or the council (and not leave pockets unowned). This mistake is causing areas to be unmaintained in the housing estate. KG was trying to check with the original builders but nothing came of this. Consequently it has become overgrown and dangerous for pedestrians. Combined with no parking restrictions in the area, people are blocking the path for pedestrians and this path is very thin due to nobody cutting it back. The council needs to fix this problem as it is very dangerous - even if you blindly make it 20mph, it will still potentially put people at risk of injury. The council need to take ownership of this and cut it back hedges etc. I pay my council tax so that the council cut back bushes and hedges in my area, and that includes the ones that the council neglected to take ownership of when the road was built. Please be aware that you have been made aware of this unacceptable situation in case somebody gets hit by a vehicle in this area
