Dangerous gaps in bridge railings

Concerns have been raised about the gaps in the railings on this bridge, as they are wide enough for a child to fit through and there is a dangerous drop if this did happen. Please assess this for safety, in the past it is understood that there was an additional wire barrier to prevent incidents but this is no longer present.
