Better lane markings needed

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 11:02, Mon 7 April 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

When you come off the south slip road from the A34, the lanes split but the lane markings are unclear because they sit on top of a box junction. It's quite common to be cut up because it's not obvious which lane divides into which two lanes when going right round back under the A34.

  • I drive here almost daily and there is ALWAYS someone in the wrong lane as they leave the A43 Southbound and head right under the bridge towards Milton Heights/Steventon. There not only needs to be better line marking on the road, but I think there needs to be some hanging signs/on posts that show which lane goes where, as there is often queue on the slip road which leads back to the A34 itself at rush hour and this means drivers cannot see the "Milton Park/Didcot/Wantage/A34" divisions.

  • Thank you for your report. Upon completion of a thorough site investigation, it was determined that the road markings are acceptable as they are not significantly faded and meet the required threshold. We will continue to monitor the location.
