Please explain why Florence Park and other Oxford parks grass has already been cut yet the this park as usual is left untouched?

This year the park management need to ensure the grass in the REC is cut regularly start this week.

The images attached here show there is clear need to start this work please ensure this happens this week.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly.
