Two blocked gullies on opposite sides of High Street

There are two gullies - one on the north side between Brookside and the Old Forge, the other opposite outside Littlecote. Both are blocked with sediment - the former has been blocked for years. As a result, stormwater from higher up the street (on occasion coming from the downs) continues past Church Street and risks flooding properties at the lower end of the High Street.

  • Thank you for proactively bringing the drainage issue at High Street to our attention. Your vigilance helps us maintain the quality of our highways. We are pleased to inform you that the Parish or Town of Blewbury and Harwell is scheduled for gully emptying in the third quarter of this financial year. While severe weather may cause delays, we are committed to thoroughly cleansing all Highway Surface Water Assets in the area within this timeframe.
