A sinkhole opened in the lane directly outside my gates last weekend. It is 15cm deep.

This sinkhole suddenly appeared on 30.3.25 right outside my drive in Green Lane. It is 15 cm deep and seems to extend under the road surface. Although the diameter of the hole itself is only about 10 cm my concern is that because it's hollow underneath, the road surface might collapse. As you can see from one of the photos it is quite close to a manhole cover, with the worry being that escaping water might be eroding the layer beneath the tarmac. It needs to be investigated immediately.
