Tree fallen into fence

Reported via desktop in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 09:32, Thursday 20 March 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Our house on St Johns Road backs onto the old moat dip and recently, either a tree has been cut down or fallen down and it has fallen into our fence and knocked our fence down. There isn't access for us to get behind our fence as the drop is quite steep from the other side but we need to have this removed. Where it has been leaning on to our fence, it has now loosened two of the fence posts which we will have to pay to get repaired which isn't ideal.

I have reported this and I have been advised to try and reach out to this portal. As I am unable to get to the bit of land behind our house, I have tried to get images over the fence.

Our address is: GREYHOUND COTTAGES, 6C, ST JOHNS ROAD, WALLINGFORD, OX10 9AD

Council ref: ENQ251042398

  • Thank you for your enquiry, after doing some investigations it has been confirmed that this tree is growing from land that is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council. The land the the tree is growing from will fall under the responsibility of Wallingford Town Council or under the responsibility of South Oxfordshire District Council. I recommend getting in touch either of these organisations to the the matter resolved.
