Severe Congestion on School Runs

I object to the expansion of Aston Rowant School as it is now a major threat to the Environment of the Parish due to the Number of Vehicles that enter the Village to deliver and collect children during Mornings and Afternoons on Weekdays. This leads to greatly increased hazards on the Village approach Roads with the number of SUV's, Vans and Large Family Cars that greatly exceed the 20-mph limit and Force Residents Cars off the Road particularly on Blind Bends as they invariably approach in the Middle of the Narrow Road.

I have counted up to 40 Cars in the Extended School Drop Area and each one vying for the hoped for Position next to the School Entrance. There is now extensive damage to the Road surface of Plowden Park. Cars are being Abandoned on the Pavements and obstructing the Turning Space by the School despite the Keep Clear Signs. This is further aggravated by synchronised deliveries like Natural Gas to the School by blocking Plowden Park completely while refilling the School Storage Tanks. Normal Delivery Vehicles or green & Brown Bin Refuse collections add further to this inconvenience as there is no circulation space.

There is extensive damage to the Kerbs on both sides of Plowden Park resulting in Loss or complete Blocks, Displacement or Sinking due to Heavy vehicles having to mount the Verge Edges to pass closely parked vehicles. All of this need repairing or replacement by the Local Council. Elsewhere Grass Verges are being encroached upon due to careless Parking or Car Passing difficulties by Drivers that cant hug to the opposite side.

Instead of being a small dedicated School for Local Village use it has become a Blight on the Village.
