Dangerous children’s crossing on Phoenix trail

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 16:22, Monday 17 March 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Do you know of safety measures eg speed warning signs planned for the entrance to Morton lane ? There is a 20mph sign on a lamp post adjacent to the entrance which is confusing. Amazon drivers often speed up the lane not knowing of the crossing. I highlighted this issue on FixMyStreet.com some time ago. My report was closed by OCC with statement : investigation completed (with no details ! )Note the following signs are placed at the entrance to the building complex in Southern Road - 5 mph and Beware children. Children can be seen there, but children up Moreton Lane cannot be seen until too late. I know of at least one emergency stop by a careful driver ! The slow signs on the tarmac have faded and cannot be seen when it snows or frosty. Once upon a time there was a 5 mph sign at the entrance until A N. Other removed it. Electric cars often use the lane and small children and dogs off the lead aren’t always aware of the danger. An accident waiting to happen ?
