Tress blown over in hedgerow forming part of a public highway

Reported via mobile in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 15:02, Wednesday 26 February 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

You closed my report without giving a reason with some boilerplate response saying "please provide [insert text]". Seriously??!! At least tell me what you need before closing a perfectly reasonable request for the council to rectify an issue using my tax money. Original report below AGAIN....

There are multiple trees and shrubs blown over due to the recent high winds. They are on the Bradford Road verge (council maintained land) but are now overhanging a fence risking damage to both it and some other nearby trees. Ideally they should be righted and supported with stakes (rather than just chopping them down) as the hedgerow is full of birds and wildlife and also provides a visual and sound barrier to the main road.

  • Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. The fallen trees you have reported are off maintained highway and are within the boundary line of the new development. This meaning that OCC are not responsible for the trees and this issue will need to be raised with the developer for the area. Sorry we cannot be more help. Kind regards
