Overflowing, stagnant gully.

Reported via mobile in the Other category anonymously at 17:29, Fri 21 February 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

This has been an issue for years. We did previously report prior to covid then no one bothered continuing with the case once it passed. There is a gully along a long stretch of this road however this part is always full or overflowing stagnant dirty stinky water which overflows along our driveway. It causes an awful smell and attracts HUGE rats. When it rains it’s even worse and water as the water flows towards and across our property causes our driveway to flood with flowing water also with know where for it to go but along the main road. When it freezes it’s also a slip hazard for cars and bicycles. It’s located between out property and ‘black ditch farm’

  • I tried reporting this problem separately, but have now received a dismissive email 'now closed'. I cannot accept that a complaint can be closed unless it is resolved. The response that the drainage in Thame will receive attention next year is grossly inadequate. That means that water will be running along the road all winter. Seems the County Council are unaware of the consequences. Another thing. If a proper investigation had been carried out there wouldn't be a remark that ditches belong to the landowner. Well it does - the Highway Authority...
