Missing 30mph sign exiting roundabout southbound on A4074

Reported via mobile in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 22:26, Mon 27 January 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The sign was knocked down ages ago in an accident in which a pedestrian was hit. Vehicles accelerate to 40+ mph from roundabout, meaning pedestrians and cyclists cannot safely cross to the central island and cars cannot safely pull out from Cox’s Lane as traffic is moving too fast. It’s only a matter of time before there’s another accident. Fed up with reporting this and no action being taken.

  • You requested a photograph of the missing 30mph sign back in January. Laughable… Young children have to dash across this road every day on their way to and from Crowmarsh Primary School, with cars doing well above the speed limit. You do not need any photographs: just visit the site, and take note of the fact that as you exit Cox’s Lane onto the A4074 you enter a 30mph limit that is NOT signed for traffic already on the main road heading towards Reading. How much more explicit can I make it?! Local residents are sick of all the near-misses on this stretch of road.
