Sunken manhole cover
Reported via mobile in the Manhole category by Gary Madgwick at 14:49, Monday 27 January 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
There is a sunken manhole cover which has been reported before on the A417 between Mellor’s Garage and Challow Station on the left hand side of the road going towards Challow Station. This has had work recently but has sunken again due to improper repair and I have damaged my wheel and sensors.

I reported this yesterday afternoon via the emergency telephone number as it’s very dangerous. Cars swerving to miss it on a 50 mph road. Very disappointed to see that no action taken today. I wonder how many vehicles will be damaged before something is done or will it take a nasty accident to get some action?
