Frozen water on road from blocked drain and small spring
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I reported this matter a few months ago, but the case was closed, and I believe it was said that it might be looked at again in cold weather. Now it is even more important because of frozen water. The drain has been blocked for several months, and water usually flows down the gutter, but sometimes due to mud or leaves it is diverted diagonally across the road, by a chicane/road narrowing feature. There is also a very small natural spring by the kerb of the chicane, (we could see the water still bubbling up a few days ago) and the water pools on the uphill side of the traffic calming hump, It also makes the road wet on the other downhill side of the road. I explained before that I had witnessed someone come off their bike here a couple of years ago. This morning (10 Jan 25) at 7.30 am a schoolboy coming down the hill came off his bike on the patch of ice. His dad following, went into him and also came off his bike. This was an accident waiting to happen.
