Worsening pothole in already unusable cycle lane

Reported via iOS in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:14, Fri 10 January 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I have reported the dreadful state of the cycle lane on Eynsham Road multiple times but still nothing has been done about it. The condition of the cycle lane has now worsened, with a growing pothole outside 19 Eynsham Road. Please do something about the dangerous state of the cycle lane along this road so that it can actually be used, and I no longer need to cycle in the main carriageway. Thank you.

  • I have just cycled home along the Eynsham Road from Botley. The state of the cycle track is deteriorating almost on a daily basis. It is dangerous. It is full of holes and grooves. I have now decided it is so unsafe to cycle on this particular road that I am now pushing my bike instead of riding it. I cannot risk falling off my bike, as surely that is what will happen if I continue to ride down this pot-hole ridden path. Please do something as a matter of urgency, before someone sustains a very serious injury.

  • The pot holes are getting worse and it is a real hazard to ride a bicycle in the cycle lane heading away from Oxford. There are some very deep holes and grooves providing real hazards to cyclists. Please do something urgently before someone is seriously hurt.

  • This pothole is actively dangerous to cyclists and other road users, as it now extends into the main carriageway of the road. It is approximately 2cm deep, 30 cm long and 7 cm wide and needs urgent attention. It is down to the road core layer, which means it will degrade faster and faster.
