Blocked drain

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This drain is blocked/full of mud. This drain picks up spring water further up on the bend. However, as this is blocked the water to flowing down Butts Road, into the junction and across where school kids cross. Yesterday (8th January) and today (9th January) this water has frozen and has become a serious safety issues for school kids crossing the road. Several of the kids and their parents have fallen because of this ice. There is also concern that vehicles travelling down the Butts Road will not be able to stop because of the ice and seriously injury a child walking to school. This drain and pipe needs to be urgently cleared.

  • Serious worry for safety of school children due to serve ice in the road due to a leak/water issue further up the road.

    Salt bin isn't accessible due to the ice build up. Also salt is rock hard and can't be distributed.

    Lots of cars having issues turning and having to abandoned on the road. Multiple parents and children falling over daily due to the issue.

  • The issues from the blocked drain have become a real saefty risk for parents and children attending the school and for residents. The water has been running down into Church Road. Every day, cars have been skidding, reversing down the hill as they cannot get up the hill, struggling to brake on their way down etc. Each day, parents and children have fallen on Church Road when crossing. On Friday, a parent fell and required treatment by a doctor. This is an incredibly dangerous situation.

  • The drain is still blocked and again parents and kids were put in danger with the ice forming across the road where you have to cross to get to school. Please can you sort this out ASAP. It has been three weeks since this was reported to you.
