Please paint road markings!
Reported via iOS in the Road Markings category anonymously at 13:52, Mon 16 December 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Please please please paint arrows on which lane to use on this roundabout. Now the new road has opened it’s an even bigger free for all than it was before. If it was clearly marked with which lane to use to go where then there is less likely to be near misses. Also, a sign stating a new road layout would also be helpful as not everyone is aware of how it has changed

Thank you for contacting OCC about arrow markings on the A338/A417 roundabout and apologies for the delay in responding.
The approaching lanes to this roundabout are not designated to specific directions, such as a left turn only lane. Three of the four approaches are two lane entries, one approach is a single lane entry with all exits having two lanes. The use of the lanes are not prohibited to certain directions and are to be used in line with The Highway Code; for approaches with two lanes, the left-hand lane can be used for vehicles taking the first or second exit and the right-hand lane can be used for taking the second or third exit.
The roundabout complies with the appropriate standard that does not require directional lane markings or circulatory markings to facilitate the movements mentioned above.
‘New Road Layout’ signs have been erected on each approach to the roundabout to warn road users of the amended roundabout.
