Skid hazard
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 14:48, Fri 13 December 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The building site opposite us is not cleaning the wheels of lorriews leaving the site. Mud and gravel is being spread all over the road. It is a skid hazard and pedestrians are being sprayed with mud and peppered with gravel when vehicles pass them. This is dangerous. Either clean the street at least twice a day or put skid hazard signs up either side of the building site to warn motorists. It is a 30mph zone but it is the Thame Ring road coming off a 40mph zone and vehicles commonly speed.

The Site Engineer will contact the developer to make sure they have wheel washing facilities on site and to remind them of their duty to keep the roads clean and clear of mud and debris. Please also report this to planning at South Oxfordshire District Council, as there will be a clause in their planning permission to have wheel washing facilities.
