Continuing, serious flooding on a fast road

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 21:16, Tue 10 December 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Flooding on a main road. There are old cones and an entire vehicle front bumper demonstrating the danger of hitting deep water on an unlit road under trees. The drains are NOT taking the water away. Police class this as a ‘fast road’. As a retired officer I am staggered this hasn’t been made safe.

  • This situation has not been fixed and is now worse than ever - people are swerving into the middle of the road at the last minute potentially likely to cause a head on crash, particularly in misty conditions. Various remnants of traffic cone and vehicle parts litter the roadside - this is an absolute disgrace. How can it take so long for this to be addressed - you are gambling with peoples lives

  • No action whatsoever, even with this having potential for a serious accident There is now a massive pothole right in the middle of the road - a further obstacle for unwitting drivers to avoid at the last minute. After the recent downpour, yet again this are of road was flooded, and being in a dip is almost invisible until the last minute - often causing vehicles to swerve into the oncoming traffic, or go through the water far too fast causing a hazard for other road users. This was reported 3 weeks ago - why has nothing been done???
