Manhole cover sinking

Reported via desktop in the Manhole category anonymously at 10:38, Tue 3 December 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The manhole cover just before the pedestrian crossing with traffic lights as you drive north towards the car auctions on Range road is gradually sinking and the surrounding tarmac is breaking up. As many large lorries use this road, this is only going to get worse and eventually cause damage to someones tyre or worse an accident. The road narrows near this crossing and doesn’t really give you space to avoid this sunked cover if there is traffic coming from the other direction.

  • The whole manhole frame is rocking as the cars drive over it now, needs sorting asap before it fails completely. Especially as a lot of HGV lorries drive over it
