Grit left on path and in gutter causing problems

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 14:53, Sun 1 December 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

All along the east side path on Wallingford Road (B4009), from no.2 Chalk Pit Cottage through North Stoke, grit from earlier resurfacing works was not cleared from the path, nor the road. This has resulted in the build up and hardening of the grit along the gutters. Rainwater brings more of it down the road and onto the path. This is worsening the path surface, which was already in a poor state. Rainwater often floods into driveways now. Road sweeping did not clear the gutters.

  • This "concreted" grit debris runs from the top of the path just outside 2 Wallingford Rd, North Stoke, down to roughly outside no. 18.
