Water leak onto road and cycle path
Reported via desktop in the Flooding on Road category anonymously at 16:02, Thu 28 November 2024
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This leak has been ongoing for many months however due to low temperatures the water leaking onto the road and cycle path is now freezing into black ice. This is particularly dangerous due to its location at the bottom of a steep hill where the road and cycle path combine. I witnessed a collision today between a cyclist and a bus which had stopped at the bus stop just past the ice patch, then another cyclist slid off their bike narrowly missing the cars.

This water leak is still running. As the local Councillor of Marston, I have had a range of local residents complain about this leak. Thames Water and local councils are not taking responsibility for it, however, it is a huge waste of water and a potential safety hazard. Please resolve this issue.

Thank you for proactively bringing the drainage issue at Copse Lane to our attention. Your vigilance helps us maintain the quality of our highways. We are pleased to inform you that the Parish or Town of Headington Hill and Northway is scheduled for gully emptying in the first quarter of this financial year. While severe weather may cause delays, we are committed to thoroughly cleansing all Highway Surface Water Assets in the area within this timeframe.
