The bridge expansion joint is causing a large pothole crossing the flyover. Picked a lot of loose tarmac off the road

    A large pothole was repaired, on the Downs Road bridge over the A40, about a week ago. This is already beginning to pick out. As you'll see from the photographs the area marked for repair was not fully excavated. The consequence of this is that the corner of the repair is failing as due to the acute angle.

  • The whole of the repair has now picked out and large pieces of it are scattered across the road. This needs urgent attention.
