Keep clear markings erased

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings category anonymously at 10:26, Friday 8 November 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

During recent works the ‘Keep Clear’ markings at the Woodstock Road / Squitchey Lane junction were removed. This has resulted in Southbound vehicles on Woodstock Road frequently blocking the turning out of Squitchey Lane. Please either replace the markings or make a box junction.

  • Thank you for bring this to our attention the design team involved with the recent road works have stated: 'The ‘keep clear’ road markings at the junction have not been reinstated in the new road marking layout because the previous arrangement was a non-prescribed combination of road markings, i.e. the TSRGD (The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016) does not permit the combination of controlled area road markings (zig zags) with ‘keep clear’ road markings.' Unfortunately to reinstate the KEEP CLEAR will require authorisation from the Department of Transport are only issued for very exceptional circumstances.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
