Several potholes on a bend just past Aston ditch leading to Bampton

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Russell Avis at 16:01, Wed 30 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The road leading from Aston to Bampton was recently resurfaced from just past the pottery to just before the Aston ditch. However, there are several untouched potholes on the blind bend past the ditch that force drivers to cross the central white line approaching the bend that make it very dangerous as large lorries (as well as car drivers) coming from Bampton into Aston after the straight don't slow down enough. There is likely to be an accident if these are not fixed.

  • Further to my report, it is too dangerous to stop near these potholes to take photos as they are on a bend.

  • How many more times does this very bad potholed surface area have to be reported before action is taken. Who is responsible for the dangerous road surface situation, as now both cars and cyclists/ bikers have to swerve to avoid the potholes both before the bridge and just after, & in both cases the action they take is on a bend causing a possible accident waiting to happen with the on coming traffic. Please deal before something bad happens.

  • The problem road surface is getting worse by the day, and there is going to be a nasty accident soon if matters are not resolved. The poor surface and deep potholes now extends around a complete S bed including a tight bridge and despite being reported on a number of occasions, is never looked at( no painted road marking around potholes) and is being completely ignored. Common sense needs to prevail!

  • These potholes have still not been fixed, very dangerous for all users of this road, hard to avoid without swerving to the other side of the road. Number and size of the potholes are increasing - becoming increasingly dangerous.
