Appalling re-surfacing
Reported via desktop in the Other category anonymously at 08:41, Tue 29 October 2024
Sent to Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
St George's Road has just been re-surfaced and it is one of the worst jobs I have ever seen - to the point that the road looks like it has been left as a base-layer. The road has loose material still visible, has not been compacted and the wrong specification has been used - in a very thin layer. The joins to the remaining road are of very poor quality. I would expect the Highways authority to inspect the works prior to sign-off and would hope they do not pay the 'approved' contractor for the appalling quality of work. Tax-payers money has gone towards this re-surfacing and it is simply not up to a satisfactory standard - which should be brought to the attention of the Highways authority. This road will need to be re-surfaced again within the next few years as a result of poor workmanship!
