A Blocked Drain / Gully problem has been found

This has been a perennial problem for approaching 20 years. The remedial action taken early in 2024, whereby an interceptor gully was added to the footpath, has proven ineffective, as mud from the grass bank routinely blocks both the gully and the nearby drains, leading to an impassable pavement and treacherous mud once the water has dissipated.

The most recently added photo is one that I took in Nov 2014, meaning that this unresolved problem has been presenting a hazard to pedestrians for in excess of 10 years. Anyone using this main pedestrian route between Grove and Wantage is, during periods of wet weather, confronted with a safety hazard (slips and/or being hit by a vehicle) as they try to navigate this obstacle
