No stop markings needed

Reported via Android in the Road Markings category anonymously at 07:36, Tuesday 8 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

A yellow no stop box is needed here as many cars are moving forward when it's not safe to do so due to traffic buildup in the mornings and tailgating other drivers. This causes the drivers from other lanes to be held in a stand-still even though the traffic light is green. There are also many drivers using the park and ride lanes but not going to park and ride and instead cutting in front of other drivers so many some clarity or cameras would be good here.

  • Thank you for bring this to our attention and with your suggestion of a camera and yellow box road markings at Carfax Junction. What you observed is driver behaviour that will not be addressed by installing a camera or road markings as both proposals would have to be enforced by the Police who do no have the resources to do so. The frustration is understandable but once the proposed filters are installed once the Botley Road railway bridge is opened to traffic this may change. Due to Corn Market and Queen Street being pedestrianised it is not strictly a junction for vehicles and a yellow box is not recommended.
