Dangerously wet muddy road alongside building site

Reported via iOS in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 11:48, Monday 7 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 hour, 42 minutes later

The lorries leaving the new building site to the east of Abingdon Road. North of the ring road junction, are leaving an awful muddy mess on the road which covers passing cars as they drive through ( this happened to me and the windscreen was temporarily blocked off!) spraying mud all over. Please can the developers be made to have the road cleaned regularly throughout the day as this is such a busy route? Thank you

  • There has been a road sweeper out on Thursday 10 Oct and it did not achieve anything other than move some of the dirt on the road around but the actual dirt was not touched. A road sweeper was then out yesterday (Wednesday 16 Oct) but they didn't actually do anything, they just drove by twice and the vehicle wasn't doing anything to the road. The mud is now on the pavement.

  • MY word!! this is an accident just waiting to happen! , PLEASE can someone attend this site and make an assessment. The amount of mud and stones/rocks left on the road is unbelievable, on a bend and clearly presenting a significant hazard. All this could easily be remedied by the developer employing a wheel wash system for vehicles leaving site either a bath or manual system. Please inspect this site as it appears to be out of control.
