As co-owner of Checkendon Equestrian Centre, the local community relies on us both in terms of employment and providing a local amenity, but our staff (we employ over 20 people- 12 on full time and the rest on a part-time basis, suppliers, coaches, therapists and clients are badly affected by the increasingly treacherous potholes on Lovegrove's Lane leading to the Centre. Lovegrove's Lane is also used by a company on Bradley Street that operates several commerical vehicles with trailers. In order to avoid the potholes drivers are driving on our grassy verge, which has been upsettingly damaged.
It is hugely embarrassing when our clients break down because of flat tyres caused by the potholes on the lane leading to our property at huge expense to them.
Please can the council repair these as soon as possible, but not on a temporary basis please, as these sort of temporary repairs last for a few weeks only. The road needs to be dealt with properly.
We at Checkendon Equestrian Centre pay 5 council tax property bills, a couple on the highest band, we pay business rates, we receive no benefits at all from DEFRA or HMRC, and we are further penalised by the Council's inability to keep the lane free of potholes. Please, please can you deal with this as a matter of urgency. Thank you.
