Subject: Request for Resurfacing of Church Lane and Immediate Action on Hazardous Pothole

Dear Council,

I am writing to report a hazardous pothole on Church Lane, one of many along this road. Church Lane now serves 13 households and a local business, Goto Group, located at The Stables, which employs 33 staff members, all of whom commute by car. The condition of Church Lane has significantly deteriorated, and the potholes pose a severe risk of damage to vehicles, particularly through wheel and suspension damage. Furthermore, they represent a health and safety risk to residents and workers who walk along this unlit road.

As Church Lane lies within a conservancy area (Lewknor), there is no artificial lighting, making the poor road surface even more dangerous, particularly during the winter when the potholes are likely to worsen. The specific pothole I am referring to is mid way down Church Lane's.

Given the lane's overall condition, I urge the council to consider resurfacing Church Lane rather than opting for temporary patch repairs. The road’s state, compounded by multiple large potholes, requires a long-term solution to ensure the safety of residents, employees, and visitors.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Kind regards,

Edward
