Slip road still floods pretty much every time there is rain

Reported via desktop in the Flooding on Road category anonymously at 16:45, Thursday 3 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Despite the promise of work in the spring to resolve this, there has been no change -- after any significant amount of rain, there is water all the way across the slip road. This is dangerous as it is quite deep, and required taking a wide line and not being able to speed up to the traffic flow being joined. If one was not expecting it, it could be catastrophic if hit at any speed, either hydroblocking the engine or wore still, causing aquaplaning and a loss of control onto the main carriageway. There is also a large puddle that forms on the inside of the curve of the sliproad leaving the A40 when heading west at this point. This puddle blocks one lane, and also persists long after the rain has abated.
