Traffic Light Sequencing

Reported via mobile in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 17:29, Tuesday 1 October 2024

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The traffic lights need re-sequencing to cope with traffic volumes. Every morning queues stretch from the lights on the crossroads of the A4260 / B4031 to the lay-by with coffee van with 25 minute wait. When you finally cross the junction there is no traffic from the B4031. In the afternoon it queues the other way towards Banbury creating a dangerous tail back to the blind brow of the hill near Plumdon Lane.

  • Thank you for your report, we are now investigating this issue and an update will be posted as soon as possible.

    State changed to: Investigating

  • An Engineer has checked the operation of the junction and found it working correctly without any current faults. All approaches were seen to be demanded and green times being extended by the signals. The site does operate at over capacity during peak times resulting in the tidal queues. We will continue to monitor the junction.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
